Manchester United fans won’t merely be getting one man back for the club’s upcoming match against Newcastle on Saturday, they will be getting three. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Marcos Rojo will all be suiting up for the Reds, according to manager Jose Mourinho.
For Ibrahimovic, he will be making his return for Manchester United, having signed a one-year deal with the team back in August. The legendary Swedish striker is back on the pitch for the Reds, having had his 2016-17 campaign ended by serious ligament damage in his right knee that he suffered back in April during a Europa League quarterfinal.
In 28 appearances with the club, Ibrahimovic has collected 17 goals in what has become the first English Premier League action of his career.
In addition to the high-octane scoring prowess of Ibrahimovic, the team will also be getting back a prolific midfielder in Pogba, the second-most expensive Association Football transfer. He inked a five-year deal to return to the club in August 2016.
Pogba has been a member of the Reds before, having appeared in three games with the club during the 2011-12 season. After departing from Manchester United, he spent four seasons with Juventus in Serie A, becoming a full-time starter. The 24-year-old came back to appear in 30 games last year with the team, scoring five goals overall, before having already netted a pair of goals in the four games he has appeared in this season.
The team will also be welcoming back the aforementioned Rojo, who appeared in 21 games with the team last season before having his season cut short in April by a season-ending injury.
