In 2012, the NFL had one of its best quarterback draft classes in recent years. Three quarterbacks were taken in the top 10, 11 in total. Many signed four-year deals which expire at the end of the upcoming season.
Last time a couple high profile QBs were entering their final year, Atlanta’s Matt Ryan got a five-year, $103 million deal and Joe Flacco signed a six-year, $120 million extension after winning the Super Bowl. These two helped set the market for future pending free agents.
