Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell will spend 15 months on probation and his driver’s license will be suspended for 60 days following an arrest for possession of marijuana and a DUI charge for an August 20, 2014 incident which also involved former-teammate LeGarrette Blount.
If Bell successfully completes the probation he can petition the court to have his permanent record expunged of the charges. Bell, 22, is coming off a monster season in which he rushed for 1361 yards, hauled in 83 passes for 854 yards and scored 11 total touchdowns.
Defense attorney Robert Del Greco Jr. said Friday that Bell likely faces up to a two-game NFL suspension. Bell must also pay more than $2000 in court costs and stands to forfeit 1/17 of his season salary for each game he is suspended.
