Top-20 2018 recruit Reggie Perry announces his commitment

Former Arkansas Razorbacks commit Reggie Perry told FanRag Sports that he has committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound power forward is a five-star prospect and a top-20 player in the Class of 2018, according to most reputable recruiting services.

After opting not to play for the Razorbacks, Perry received interest from blue blood programs such as Kentucky and Kansas, but ultimately decided to head to Starkville.

Perry will join a Mississippi State nucleus of Nik and Quinndary Weatherspoon, Lamar Peters, Tyson Carter, Eli Wright, Aric Holman, KeyShawn Feazell, Schnider Herard, and Abdul Ado during the 2018-19 season.

The Bulldogs are also heavily the mix for four-star guard Robert Woodard, a top-50 prospect in the Class of 2018.

Mississippi State will be entering year three under Ben Howland. The Bulldogs are coming off a solid, if unspectacular, 2016-17 college basketball season. By the time it was all said and done, the Bulldogs had an overall record of 16-16.

Earlier in the offseason, FanRag Sports reported that Mississippi State transfer Mario Kegler went on to join the Baylor Bears. During his lone season with Mississippi State, Kegler averaged 9.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest. He also shot 42 percent from the floor and a solid 35 percent from beyond the arc.
