Top 10 Central Division Pending UFAs

The playoffs are in full action, but several teams are already looking toward the summer. General managers are scouting the market to see what available players could be good additions to their clubs.

Some players might sign new deals with their current clubs, but as it stands right now, here are the top 10 pending UFAs in the Central Division.

Devan Dubnyk (Minnesota Wild)

NHL: FEB 24 Oilers at Wild

Dubnyk has gone from goalie hell (Edmonton) to Vezina Trophy candidate in the span of one year. He was heavily criticized during his time with the Oilers, but when he got a chance to work with goalie coach Sean Burke in Arizona to start the season, the signs that something big was brewing became evident.

When Mike Smith faltered at the start of the season, Dubnyk came in and played extremely well. His play got the attention of the Minnesota Wild and after getting traded to Minnesota, he went on an incredible run. He ended the season with a 27-9-2 record for the Wild, a 1.78 GAA and a .936 SV%.

Dubnyk will most likely sign a new deal with the Wild, as they don’t have any other goalie that is a clear-cut starter, but if he becomes available on the free agent market, he will be one of the most coveted goalies together with Antti Niemi (San Jose Sharks).
