Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook recorded the first triple-double of his career against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night during the team’s 103-95 victory. He finished the game with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists, ensuring that his season-long average of a triple-double stays in tact another game longer.

Wednesday night was the 28th game of his regular season career against Memphis and he was still yet to get them for a triple-double. But despite a 6-for-19 shooting night in which he went 0-for-7 from long-range, he managed to knock down 12-of-15 free throw attempts, leading OKC in scoring. In addition to tying center Enes Kanter for the team lead in rebounds, his 12 assists allowed four other Thunder members to reach double-digits.

For Westbrook, he now has his second triple-double of the month, after starting the new year off with three consecutive non-triple-double outings. His last time out against Memphis on Dec. 29, he had by far his worst game of the season, held to just 21 points and five rebounds, recording zero assists for the only time all year. Historically, the Grizzlies have been a pain in Westbrook’s side, “holding” him to a career average of 19.9 points, 7.0 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game entering play on Wednesday.

The win ties Oklahoma City for first place in the Northwest division with the Utah Jazz. Their next matchup comes on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the start of a six-game road trip (which includes a stop in Golden State). But the next time Westbrook faces the Grizzlies? February 3 back in Oklahoma City.
