Coming into Monday night, Carolina Hurricanes center Teuvo Teravainen had three goals over the course of the 2017-18 season. Then came the third period on Monday night against the Dallas Stars.

Teravainen started scoring and didn’t stop. In the span of seven minutes and five seconds, he scored three goals, with Jordan Staal assisting on all of them.

Teravainen had a career-high 15 goals last season in his first year with the Hurricanes. Now paired alongside Staal and Sebastian Aho, he is able to have nights like Monday, which gave him his first career hat trick — and a natural one at that.
