The St. John’s Red Storm and Saint Joseph’s Hawks are set to play a game at Mohegan Sun on Dec. 20, multiple sources told FanRag Sports on Saturday.

The game will be part of a doubleheader with Providence against Houston.

Official tip off times are yet to be determined.

St. John’s will return arguably the Big East’s top back court with Marcus Lovett and Shamorie Ponds while Saint Joseph’s should be a top tier team in the Atlantic 10.

Earlier in the offseason, FanRag Sports reported that the Johnnies received a good commitment on the transfer market when former Quinnipiac talent Mikey Dixon decided to join the program.

The young guard averaged 16.5 points per game in his freshman season. Per NCAA transfer rules, he will have to sit next season before being eligible for the following campaign. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Over the course of 29.8 minutes per outing, Dixon also averaged 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.7 steals. He would also finish his freshman campaign shooting 45 percent from the field and making 37 percent of his shots from behind the arc.

The Red Storm are looking to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2014-15 season.
