Texas A&M Aggies freshman forward Eric Vila will transfer away from the program, a source close to the situation has informed FanRag Sports.

However, it remains to be seen as to exactly where the up-and-coming swingman ultimately lands. On the other hand, it is also worth noting that Vila will be forced to sit out for the upcoming 2017-2018 campaign, per NCAA transfer regulations, upon finding his next collegiate home.

Going on to spend just one season as a member of the Aggies, Vila encountered a limited role as a freshman in 2016-2017. As a result, he averaged a mere 2.3 points per game while taking just 2.6 field goal attempts per outing a season ago. In addition to his pedestrian scoring total, Vila also averaged an even two rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.5 steals over the course of 11.9 minutes per game in what would become his lone go-round as a member of the Aggies. Vila shot just 29.4 percent from the field while adding a 26.1 percent clip from behind the arc.

Last season, Texas A&M finished the campaign with a nearly even 16-15 record. While reaching the NCAA Tournament only one season prior in 2015-2016, Texas A&M then followed up that performance with a disappointing ninth-place finish in the SEC.
