Ahead of the Boston Celtics’ Game 2 tilt against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, Gerald Green will get the start in favor of Amir Johnson, head coach Brad Stevens announced.

Johnson got the nod in Game 1 following a string of starts but only recorded a lone rebound and no points over his 4:33 of play. Green played 13:44 and poured in 11 points.

The 6-foot-7 Green saw action in four of Boston’s seven games against the Washington Wizards, which included a series-high 25:39 in the Game 3 loss. He also played in all four of the Celtics’ wins against the Chicago Bulls in the first round, recording 18 points and seven boards in Game 4 and 16 more points in Game 6 after being inserted into lineup in Game 3.

He averaged 5.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest over 47 games this season. The forward, currently in the midst of his second stint with the Celtics, signed with the club in July following a one-year stop with the Miami Heat. Boston originally drafted Green with the No. 18 pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.

Stevens will look for the roster shakeup with Green to spark the Celtics, just as it did in the opening round of the playoffs when Boston reeled off four straight over the Bulls. Stevens’ club was flat-out embarrassed out in Game 1 against Cleveland on Wednesday by a final score of 117-104 with the Cavaliers leading by as many as 26 points.

Though a win would certainly shift some of the momentum toward Boston, the Celtics are looking to do something no other team in the playoffs has done in 2017: beat the Cavaliers, who enter Friday 9-0 in the current postseason.
