Selected in the second round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Nashville Predators defenseman Samuel Girard tallied an assist in his NHL debut Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers. Two nights later Girard scored the first goal of his young NHL career, tying the Predators’ game against the Dallas Stars at 1-all at the 3:27 mark of the second period.

Girard’s goal was a blistering slap shot, as he received the pass from fellow defenseman P.K. Subban. Less than three minutes later, Girard would be involved in the Predators’ second goal of the night, assisting on Filip Forsberg’s power play goal.
