Patriots and Steelers to Open NFL Season

The 2015 NFL season will kick off with the New England Patriots hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, September 10th.

The two starting quarterbacks combine for six Super Bowls, as Tom Brady has four and Ben Roethlisberger has two. Brady is 5-2 in his career against Roethlisberger.

It’s a matchup between two of the top and most consistent teams in the AFC in the last decade. Last season, the Steelers finished 11-5 before losing in the AFC Wild Card game to the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, the Patriots won the Super Bowl.

The whole schedule was announced on Tuesday night, although specific games and dates were leaked throughout the day.

The Green Bay Packers will host their rival Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, when they’ll reportedly retire Brett Favre’s number. The Eagles will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions on Thanksgiving. The Packers will travel to Chicago to play the Bears in Week 1.

Another intriguing Week 1 game could be the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, specifically if the teams draft Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota.

Week 17 figures to answer plenty of playoff questions as every game that week will feature divisional opponents.

The Bengals and Broncos will play in the last Monday Night Football game of the season.

The Broncos, Colts, Patriots, Ravens Steelers, Eagles, Seahawks, Cowboys and Giants will all play five primetime games.
