The Washington Capitals Stanley Cup chances have flashed before their eyes on Friday night, with franchise cornerstone Alex Ovechkin taking a nasty hit from Nazem Kadri of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Kadri was issued a two-minute minor for tripping on the play, which led to T.J. Oshie scoring on the ensuing power play.

Ovechkin limped back to the locker room with the help of the training staff following that one. Kadri was immediately rained down upon with boos from the Capitals faithful, as Washington’s lead man lay on the ice for more than a minute following the collision.
