Things have been pretty solid of late for Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez .
Nearly two weeks after being inducted into the Hall of Fame his first year on the ballot, Rodriguez had his No. 7 retired by the Texas Rangers on Saturday before they took on the Houston Astros. The team also presented Rodriguez with a portrait featuring a big No. 7 with images of him during his time with the Rangers.
Rodriguez spent 13 seasons with the Rangers and is second on the franchise’s all-time hits list (1,747), fourth in games played (1,507) and fourth in home runs (217).
