Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams finally got on the board on Sunday afternoon against the rival St. Louis Cardinals — as a batter, that is. While facing Cardinals ace Carlos Martinez in the bottom half of the third inning, Williams slapped a base hit to right field for the first hit of his major league career.

The 25-year-old right-hander is currently in the midst of his second big league campaign, both of which have come in Pittsburgh. However, Williams made just one start for the Pirates as a rookie last season, so the at-bats did not come easily for him as a relief pitcher.
