Currently in his sixth season of professional baseball, New York Mets pitcher Seth Lugo had never hit a home run at either the minor or major league level. That changed Saturday night, as Lugo helped his own cause with a solo home run over the left-centerfield wall off of Colorado Rockies reliever Chris Rusin.

Lugo’s teammates made sure to give him the silent treatment when he returned to the dugout, before swarming him in celebration.

At the major league level Lugo entered Saturday’s start hitting .200 for his career, with five hits in 25 at-bats and four runs scored. Lugo’s home run gave the Mets an 8-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
