Thursday’s contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves had already seen both teams issued a warning, a player injured on a home run swing and a rain delay before Marcus Stroman stepped to the plate in the fourth inning.
Stroman launched an opposite-field solo shot off Braves starter Julio Teheran, as part of back-to-back homers with Luke Maile to open the inning.

Stroman’s homer, which came in his eighth career major league at-bat, was the first by a Blue Jays pitcher since 2003.
Stroman is first Toronto pitcher to hit a homer since Mark Hendrickson in 2003.
