It was the Connor McDavid Show in Edmonton on Thursday night, which is predominantly the case most times the Oilers are at home. The New York Islanders found out the hard way what the rest of the Western Conference already knows: Having to stop McDavid is an unenviable task.

With less than two minutes remaining, McDavid scored the game-tying goal, netting his 31st goal of the year. Come the shootout, he destroyed Islanders goaltender Christopher Gibson, delivering the Oilers a win in a season in which those have been hard to come by.
