Just because fans and the media want it to happen doesn’t mean it actually will come to fruition.
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. set he record straight from the NBA All Star Game last night.
“No, that’s not true,” Mayweather said when asked during TNT’s broadcast from New York’s Madison Square Garden whether a fight was set and whether he had signed a contract. “Um, I haven’t signed yet, and he hasn’t signed yet, you know.
“It’s just been speculations and rumors. But hopefully we can make the fight happen.”
Several obstacles stand in the way including when the fight will take place as well as which network(s) will broadcast the bout. Pacquiao fights on HBO, while Showtime televises Mayweather’s matches.
