With the second week of NFL free agency just about to end, most of the impact players on the market have already found new homes. Thankfully, there are a few big names still available that could certainly help teams out next season.
Let’s take a look at the five best free agents on the market.
5. Pierre Thomas (RB)
Thomas may not be a feature back in the NFL anymore, but he certainly is one of the better pass-catching running backs in the league. Last season, in just 11 games played, he managed to catch 45 passes for an average of 8.4 yards per catch. He is only two seasons removed from a year in which he caught 77 passes and was a force out of the backfield for the New Orleans Saints.
Unfortunately for Thomas, the Saints decided to give running back Mark Ingram a large contract earlier this offseason and signed free agent runner C.J. Spiller. That marked the end of the line for Thomas in New Orleans.
Although he will be 30 years old when the 2015 season starts, he could still make a significant impact in the passing game for a team in need.
