NFL Free Agents Find New Homes

Darrelle Revis was just one of multiple key players to find new homes on Tuesday as the NFL free agency period became official.

He was also the most significant.

Revis signed a five-year deal to return to the Jets for a total of $70 million, including $39 million guaranteed.

The cornerback’s decision not only helps the Jets immensely, it also hurts the rival Patriots who must now replace the key to the Super Bowl-winning defense. Revis, via Twitter, says he’s coming home.

In addition, Frank Gore made his decision official, as he chose to sign with the Indianapolis Colts rather than the Eagles, which was originally reported.

He wasn’t the only running back to find a new team. Former Patriots running back Shane Vereen agreed to a deal with the New York Giants. The deal is for four years and $16 million. Vereen joins a crowded backfield with Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams, which creates some questions.

The Eagles added to their secondary with Byron Maxwell, but will he be worth the $60 million?

The Browns needed help at receiver, and they hope they’ve found that in Brian Hartline.
