Rob and Stan parse through the 2018 cornerback class to see who has a chance to be a high pick. Then they mock draft NFL players who would crush it in a Home Run Derby. Check out the detailed breakdown of the “NFL Draft Podcast” below:

2018 CB class  (0:32)

Rob and Stan discuss the talent at cornerback, starting with Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick. They also discuss Tarvarus McFadden, Iman Marshall and a bunch of other players capable of being high picks. Stan also tries to squeeze Jordan Thomas into the conversation. Then they list the rest of the players on their watch list, including some unproven players who will get a chance to replace college superstars who left for the NFL.

Mock Draft: NFL Home Run Derby (21:22)

Rob and Stan finish the podcast by honoring the Midsummer Classic’s best event. They try to figure out based on guessing and estimation who would be the best home run-hitting batters in the NFL. Players who stepped up to the plate in college were tossed aside in place of people who tweeted videos of their charity softball games, but they try to put together teams that they think could hit it over the wall.

The job of an NFL general manager isn’t merely about finalizing the 53-man roster. While Drew Brees is throwing touchdown passes and Robert Quinn is crushing quarterbacks, there are a flurry of decision-makers looking to next year’s NFL draft to see what kind of depth to add behind them and if there is any cheap talent with which to replace them.

If they are starting their NFL draft prep back in August, why would any self-respecting football fan wait until the NFL combine to get in on the action?

The NFL Draft Podcast here at FanRag Sports is meant to get the wheels churning on some of the NFL’s next breakout stars before you look at your first mock draft sometime in early February. We will break down some of the best draft-eligible prospects, analyzing team fits and even trying to project team needs down the line for this podcast.
