The Dallas Cowboys got a very welcome sight when they took the field for Sunday Night Football this week against the Philadelphia Eagles. Wide Receiver Dez Bryant is active and will play for the Cowboys tonight. He’s been out since Week Three with a knee injury.
Bryant was forced to miss the last three games after sustaining a hairline fracture in his right knee during their Sept. 25 game against the Chicago Bears. The Cowboys have been cautious with their star receiver, but he foreshadowed his availability earlier this week by proclaiming his health.
“I’m excited. I get to be back with my teammates and get to be a part of the excitement,” Bryant said after a practice this week. “It’s just fun. I just can’t wait to get out there and have fun.”
As for the people who will miss the game, the inactive players for Dallas are tackle Chaz Green, quarterback Tony Romo, defensive end Ryan Davis, running backs Lance Dunbar and Darius Jackson, safety Kavon Frazier and linebacker Mark Nzeocha.
For the Eagles, defensive tackle Taylor Hart, wide receiver Bryce Treggs, linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, and offensive linemen Josh Andrews, Dillon Gordon, and Isaac Seumalo are all inactive.
Of the notable active players for the Eagles, cornerback C.J. Smith will make his NFL debut. The undrafted rookie will make his debut against, oddly enough, his former teammate Carson Wentz from North Dakota State.
