Another day, another position is announced as filled by the yet-to-be-named Las Vegas expansion franchise.
This morning majority owner, Bill Foley, announced that Andrew Lugerner has been hired as the organizations Director of Hockey Legal Affairs.
Before joining the front office for the new NHL franchise, Lugerner worked at global law firm, Latham & Watkins, in New York City as an associate at Latham & Watkins.
Of note, Lugerner previously worked as a Legal Intern for the Washington Capitals from the 2011-12 season through the end of the 2012-13 season, under the direction of then Capitals (now Vegas) General Manager George McPhee. Thus making one more connection to the Eastern Conference franchise for the new assumed Western Conference club.
Lugerner followed up his graduating cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in political science and economics in 2008 from Emory University with a Juris Doctor degree from University of California School of Law in 2013.
Lugerner will be joining other recently named members of the Vegas Hockey front office recently announced including, Kelly McCrimmon as Assistant General Manager, Misha Donskov as the Director of Hockey Operations, Dan Marrazza was named Director of Digital & Social Media, along with Katy Boettinger hired as Director of Hockey Administration, and yesterday’s announcement of Dave Prior to the Director of Goaltending and NHL Goaltending Coach roles.
In the city that never sleeps things are happening rapidly to have the front office take shape for the new franchise. A name and logo should be happening in short time along with further announcements of coaching and scouting staff.
The Las Vegas expansion team is set to start play in the 2017-18 NHL season.
