Free agent center Dewayne Dedmon is set to leave the San Antonio Spurs after one season, agreeing to a deal with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical. The details of the contract have yet to be reported.

Dedmon became an unrestricted free agent after he declined his club option next season worth $2.8 million. He played in 76 games for the Spurs last season, making 37 starts, and averaged 5.1 points and 6.5 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game.

The Spurs signed Joffrey Lauvergne on Monday to take over Dedmon’s spot on the team.

The Hawks currently have Miles Plumlee atop their depth chart at center, after acquiring him from the Charlotte Hornets as part of the package for Dwight Howard. Atlanta also acquired Marco Belinelli and a second-round pick in this year’s draft, which they used to select former Oregon guard Tyler Dorsey.

Diamond Stone and Mike Muscala make up the other Atlanta centers, as they look to fill the void in the post left by Paul Millsap, who signed with the Denver Nuggets this offseason. The Hawks acquired Stone from the Los Angeles Clippers as part of the three-team trade with the Denver Nuggets that landed Danilo Gallinari with the Clippers and agreed to a deal with Muscala in free agency.

Dedmon signed with the Golden State Warriors after going undrafted in 2013 and also spent time with the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic in his four-year career. The 7-foot, 245-pound center has averaged 4.3 points and 5.3 rebounds over his career after spending his collegiate days at USC.
