According to a recent report from WFAN’s Mike Francesa, via CBS New York, the New York Giants are going to start their 2017 campaign by going to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. That’s allegedly going to be the Sunday Night Football matchup.
Yes, the NFL schedule technically won’t be revealed until this evening, and there is missing information from Francesa’s report, such as the exact times of the games. If he’s right, though, the rest of the opponents, and where the games will be played, look like this:
Week 2: Home against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.
Week 3: At the Philadelphia Eagles.
Week 4: At the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Week 5: Home against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Week 6: At the Denver Broncos.
Week 7: Home against the Seattle Seahawks.
Week 8: Bye Week.
Week 9: Home against the Los Angeles Rams.
Week 10: At the San Francisco 49ers.
Week 11: Home against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Week 12: At the Washington Redskins. This is the Thursday Night Football matchup.
Week 13: At the Oakland Raiders.
Week 14: Home against the Dallas Cowboys, a rematch of the season opener.
Week 15: Home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Week 16: At the Arizona Cardinals.
Week 17: Home against the Washington Redskins.
So, though the Giants may have to start the season on the road against one rival, they allegedly get to finish it at home against another rival. That bookends the season with huge games, and wins in those two could go a long way toward defining the playoff picture.
