Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was not happy about their 27-27 tie with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
In particular, Norman is incredibly upset with the referees following the performance. In overtime with the Redskins driving into scoring territory, wide receiver Pierre Garcon was flagged for a pass interference call that was questionable, at best.
As you can imagine, Norman did not have nice things to say about the situation.
“Who is official eighty-eight? I’ve gotta know,” Norman said at the podium after the game. “You suck. I’m just being honest with you. I’m just being straightforward. He was terrible and I feel like he should be reprimanded.”
The referee he is referring to is field judge Brad Freeman.
“And at the end of the game, Pierre caught a slant. A slant route in five yards. Got separation from the DB.We were in field goal range. Flag. Coming back,” Norman continued. “Was that the only first offensive pass interference call of the game? I need to know because I don’t think Cincy had one of them at all.”
Norman, who was flagged several times in the game, claimed that the referees were out to get him and that it interfered with his game. He even claims that he was fearful that a flag was going to get thrown every time the ball came his way.
“I’m baffled by it, I really am,” Norman said. “I just feel like they really need to sit down and look at that because the plays out there that was going on, I have never had seven flags on me in my entire life and I feel like he coulda had more than that. Every time he (Andy Dalton) threw the ball I feel like there was gonna be a flag.”
