The Tampa Bay Rays have officially activated middle infielder Tim Beckham from their 10-day disabled list, the club announced on Saturday evening. The shortstop-turned-second baseman was originally forced to the sideline due to a sprained left ankle, an injury that had remained a lingering issue for several weeks.

However, because Beckham’s recent stint on the club’s 10-day disabled list overlapped the All-Star break, he missed just six games in all.

The 27-year-old is currently in the midst of his fourth season atop the highest level, all of which have come as a member of the Rays. Already appearing in 75 regular-season games for Tampa Bay this time around, he is now batting .274 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI alongside a .327 on-base percentage. For his major league career, Beckham owns a .253 batting average with 25 home runs and 87 RBIs in addition to a .304 on-base percentage.

In what has become a corresponding roster move, the Rays have also elected to option fellow infielder Taylor Featherston down to Triple-A Durham. Featherston was previously acquired by the Rays by way of the Philadelphia Phillies back on June 9.

“Taylor did a really nice job for us,” Rays manager Kevin Cash said, via TampaBay.com. “For a guy that we knew nothing about, was not from our organization and we acquired him, that’s not the easiest thing to come in here and get along with the new teammates and kind of buy into that culture and that chemistry and he was outstanding. We’re very appreciative of his efforts. And we know he’s a good player, he helped us win some games.”
