With star Anthony Davis eligible for a contract extension this coming offseason, the Pelicans will reportedly offer him a maximum contract of five years that could exceed 140 million, according to ESPN.
Negotiations will open on July 1st and the exact numbers will depend on how high the NBA salary cap rises.
The Pelicans fell in Game 4 at home to the No. 1 seed Golden State Warriors on Saturday, ending their season. Davis performed extremely well in the first playoff action of his career, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history to average over 30 points and 10 rebounds in his first four playoff games.
