James Bond isn’t the only one showing off Aston Martins anymore. Patriots QB Tom Brady has signed an endorsement deal with the car company to promote the DB11, per Darren Rovell of ESPN.
It’s a car that Brady certainly can afford, but the starting price tag of $211,995 means most fans won’t be able to copy him. However, among the right circles, Aston Martin believes he can help increase exposure. They said:
“We’re looking for partnerships that make the brand resonate and to make sure people know who we are. Tom and Aston Martin are similarly aligned in their path to excellence.”
Brady also put out a short statement, just saying:
“As a long-time fan and driver, I am honored to join the Aston Martin team at this special moment in the company’s history.”
It looks like the endorsement deal isn’t only for the DB11, though that will be the focus. Brady is also going to have a signature model of the Vanquish S. The run will be incredibly limited, though, as the company only plans to make 12 of the handmade vehicles. The number is not picked at random, of course, as Brady wears No. 12.
No matter which model fans want to buy, they’re hard to come by. In a year, under 1,000 cars are sold to customers in the U.S. That’s actually a fairly large percentage, as the company only puts out about 4,000 cars annually. Though they’re already over 100 years old, the company hopes Brady can increase exposure and perhaps generate more U.S. sales.
