Matchups are set for the 2017 Barclays Center Classic, which is being held Nov. 24-25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, a source told FanRag Sports.
The event, which is not held in a tournament-type setting, will feature Minnesota versus UMass and BYU against Alabama on one day, while the next day will showcase the Gophers against the Crimson Tide and the Minutemen vs. the Cougars.
Official tip-off times have yet to be determined.
Both Minnesota and Alabama should be ranked in the Preseason Top 25 entering next season. The Crimson Tide are ranked 24th in the FanRag Sports Preseason Top 25. Minnesota comes in ranked at 14.
The Golden Gophers entered the NCAA Tournament in 2016-17 as a No. 5 seed before being upset in the first round by Middle Tennessee State. Minnesota finished its season with an overall record of 24-10.
As for the Crimson Tide, they are bringing in a strong recruiting class that should help the program immensely at the start of the 2017-18 college basketball season. Alabama finished last season with an overall record of 19-15. The program has not gone to the NCAA Tournament since the 2011-12 campaign.
