You’ll have to excuse Bulls fans if they don’t seem overly optimistic when it comes to Derrick Rose returning from injury in the playoffs–they’ve been there before, but this time might be different.
Derrick Rose, Chicago’s superstar point guard and 2011 NBA MVP, told reporters Wednesday that his surgically repaired right knee is pain-free and hopes to return before the end of the regular season. Rose underwent surgery on his meniscus February 27, he was averaging 18.4 points per game in the 46 contests he appeared in before the injury. At 43-29, the Bulls have locked up a playoff berth and currently sit as the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
