Brandon Marshall will be a Jet Tuesday

Brandon Marshall will be running routes for Gang Green in 2015.

NFL Today

In most cases five-time Pro-Bowlers playing at very high levels are worth more than a fifth round pick. When wide receiver is the position in question the price for acquiring such a player is normally quite high, but Brandon Marshall and his tumultuous relationship with the Chicago Bears is anything but ordinary.

The Chicago Bears have agreed to send the talented, nine-year wideout to the New York Jets in return for a fifth round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, which takes place in the Windy City from April 30- May 2. The trade is an instant upgrade for a Jets offense in dire need of playmakers while it poses questions about what other moves are potentially in the works for a Bears team looking to upgrade their roster with young talent.

Pending Marshall passes a physical, he will officially join his fourth NFL team on Tuesday when free agency opens at 4 pm EST. Newly hired Jets head coach Todd Bowles was instrumental in landing Marshall, whom he’d worked with during the duo’s days with the Dolphins. Marshall registered 721 receiving yards last season, ending his seven-year streak of eclipsing 1000 yards.

Is this the first of several offseason moves new Bears GM Ryan Pace will make in reshaping the franchise?
