According to an official statement released MLB Roster Moves on Thursday morning, the Houston Astros have placed right-handed relief pitcher Jandel Gustave on the club’s 10-day disabled list. Gustave has been unable to shake what is being referred to as right forearm tightness.

In what has become a corresponding roster move, the Astros have elected to recall fellow right-hander James Hoyt from Triple-A Fresno.

The 24-year-old Gustave has spent his entire two-year big league career in Houston as it stands today. Making his big league debut as a member of the Astros in 2016, he originally broke into the majors with 14 regular season relief appearances en route to a 3.52 ERA across 15.1 innings of work in all.

This time around, Gustave has already made six relief appearances atop the highest level. Over the course of an even five innings of work in 2017, he has produced a 5.40 ERA alongside two strikeouts and seven walks.

On the other hand, the 30-year-old Hoyt also made his big league debut last season as a member of the Astros. Over the course of an even 22 innings of work, he notched a 4.50 ERA to accompany his 1-1 record, one hold, one blown save and 28 strikeouts against nine walks. However, he has yet to make an appearance for the Astros thus far into the 2017 regular season.

Entering play on Wednesday afternoon against the Los Angeles Angels, the 10-5 Astros will be sitting in first-place in the American League West division.
