Florida A&M was penalized before its season even kicked off Thursday due to its uniform selection for its season-opener against Arkansas.

The jerseys violated NCAA rules because the color of the numbers was not in contrast to the main color of the jerseys. Even with a differentiating border around the numbers, the numbers need to be a contrasting color.

The Rattlers were forced to surrender a timeout in each half because of the violation.
