The Western Conference was truly a gauntlet all season long. The Golden State Warriors maintained superiority for the entirety of the season, but beneath them, as many as nine teams were battling for playoff positioning. At one point, it seemed as though there were as many as eight legitimate title contenders.
Since then, a myriad of injuries decimated many of the teams that would ultimately qualify for the playoffs, even leaving a highly-touted Oklahoma City Thunder squad on the outside looking in. No longer can the West be viewed as such a wide-open race, and many experts are even narrowing the field of true contenders to two–the Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs.
But then again, that’s why the games are played on the court rather than on paper. So how does each team stack up in their respective series?
