Minnesota Twins call up Top Prospect Byron Buxton

Widely considered the No. 1 prospect currently in the minor leagues, Byron Buxton will make his major league debut for the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.

Buxton, picked No. 2 in the 2012 draft behind Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, is an outfielder hitting .283 with six homers, seven doubles, 12 triples and 20 stolen bases. He’s driven in 37 runs in 59 games in Double-A.

The Twins are surprising many this year, and the team’s fast start probably has a lot to do with Buxton being called up before playing a game in Triple-A. At 33-27, the Twins are two games behind the Kansas City Royals in the AL Central.
