Kicking off the second half of the season in good fashion will be key for the Los Angeles Angels, who enter Friday 45-47.
Getting their star back in the lineup is a decent start.
Mike Trout, who hasn’t played a game with the Angels since suffering a thumb injury on May 28, will bat third and take his usual spot in center when his club takes on the Tampa Bay Rays.

Trout is hitting .337/.461/.732 through his first 47 games of the season, accounting for a 3.4 WAR. Along with his activation from the disabled list, right-hander Mike Morin was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake while lefty Jose Alvarez was recalled from the same affiliate.
