Miami Marlins Fire Manager Mike Redmond

Mere moments after the Miami Marlins were nearly no-hit by Shelby Miller and the Atlanta Braves, the Marlins relieved Mike Redmond of his managerial duties. Bench coach Rob Leary was fired as well.

Redmond joins Ron Roenicke (Milwaukee Brewers) as the only two managers to be fired so far in 2015.

Following the 6-0 loss, the Marlins dropped to 16-22 after losing three games in a row and six of their last seven. They currently sit fourth in the NL East. Justin Bour broke up the no-hitter with two outs in the ninth inning of Sunday’s game, but that was not enough to stop the change.

Redmond’s replacement will be announced Monday morning.
