Marcus Mariota Leads NFL Jersey Sales in May

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback and No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft Marcus Mariota sold the most jerseys in the NFL in the month of May based on totals from the NFL official online store.

Mariota, who wears No. 8, beat out Jameis Winston and Tom Brady to sell the most.

Winston was selected No. 1 in the draft, but it’s Winston proving to be more popular, at least right away. Meanwhile, DeflateGate hasn’t impacted Brady at all; in fact, it may be helping his jersey sales.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson came in at 4th, followed by New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr at No. 5 and Rob Gronkowski at six.

Three quarterbacks round out the top 10, along with wide receiver Dez Bryant, who is 8th. San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick (7th), Aaron Rodgers (9th) and Peyton Manning complete the top 10 jersey sales in May.

Last May’s number one jersey was Cleveland Browns rookie Johnny Manziel. He’s currently outside the top-25.

J.J. Watt is the highest-selling defensive player jersey at 12th in the league, and Tim Tebow is 15th in jersey sales.
