Saturday night, San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarmer made his return to the mound after being sidelined for more than two months with a Grade 2 shoulder sprain suffered while riding a dirt bike in Colorado in late April.

The left-hander’s first inning against the San Diego Padres was a good one, too, as he struck out Manuel Margot, Carlos Asuaje and Wil Myers in order.

In his last start before being placed on the disabled list, Bumgarner allowed just one run on seven hits in six innings of work against the Kansas City Royals on April 19.
