Los Angeles Angels right fielder Kole Calhoun has hit 17 or more home runs in each of his last four seasons, and in Friday’s game against the Texas Rangers, he was mere inches away from his 18th of the season.

Unfortunately for Calhoun and the Angels, his fifth-inning fly ball hit the top of the left field wall, resulting in an RBI double instead of a two-run home run. Calhoun would come around to score anyway, as an Andrelton Simmons single drove in the right fielder to give Los Angeles a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth.

Calhoun has not homered in a game since Aug. 26.
