The San Antonio Stars’ relocation to Las Vegas will result in a rebranding. Whatever this team will be called, it will have the chance to take the best player in the 2018 WNBA Draft.

Team Vegas just earned the No. 1 pick in the WNBA lottery tonight, with the Indiana Fever commandeering the No. 2 selection in April’s event. The Stars had the best odds at landing the top pick, finishing a league-worst 8-26 this season.

Chicago, meanwhile, will have a chance to make two impact selections in having acquired the Atlanta Dream’s first-round pick in a July trade.

While the odds-on favorite to go No. 1 overall is not yet known, with the college hoops season having just started, there figure to be some UConn women coveted by the teams that made out well tonight. Gabby Williams and Azura Stevens are the top Huskies as of now, with South Carolina’s A’Ja Wilson also profiling as a player who could go No. 1 overall.
