The defending Stanley Cup Champions are currently on the outside of the Western Conference playoff race, but Darryl Sutter’s team is starting to play some really good hockey. The Kings have gone 6-2-2 in their last ten contests and appear to be rounding into postseason form thanks to solid road wins during a trip that may go a long way in determining their ability to make another run at the Stanley Cup.
In a Stanley Cup Final rematch last night against the New York Rangers in Madison Square Garden the Kings controlled the puck and clearly out-skated the Blue Shirts. After giving up an early goal the Kings spent a majority of the night in the Rangers zone and dominated the remainder of the contest.

With nine games remaining, the Kings trail the Winnipeg Jets by two points and the Minnesota Wild by four points in the Western Conference Wild Card standings.
