Kris Bryant Records First MLB Hit

Baseball’s top prospect Kris Bryant’s first career hit was everything baseball fans thought it would be.

A bloop single.

After working two walks off San Diego Padres starter Tyson Ross, Chicago Cubs third baseman Bryant reached out for a bloop single that drove in a run and tied the game 2-2 in the fifth inning.

Bryant, known for his enormous power, advanced to second on a throw to third base, where that runner was also safe.

Here is the hit:

The first hit came a day after an underwhelming debut. Bryant struck out three times in an 0-4 day.

On the first play of Saturday’s game, Bryant booted a ground ball and was charged with an error. That’s a distant memory now that the first hit is on the board.
