The All Star Game at Madison Square Garden was the last chance for fans to see Carmelo Anthony in action this season.
The New York Knicks will shut down their star forward for the remainder of the season today as surgery on his sore left knee will be scheduled in the near future.

Anthony was named a starter in the All Star Game and drew criticism for hinting beforehand that he would shut it down following the weekend. His play during All Star Weekend came up short and it was only a matter of time before the announcement would be made.
The Knicks are a league-worst 10-43 and will surely have a strong chance at winning the NBA Draft Lottery which will bring the opportunity to select sensational Duke freshman Jahlil Okafor.
