The ongoing process of hiring George Karl while Tyrone Corbin was employed is officially over as the Sacramento Kings announced the official hiring of George Karl as the next head coach.
Karl went to Twitter to come forward as the new head man:

Karl heads #BackToWork with a lot of work to do. The Kings have been a mess for some time, and the handling of the hiring process was further proof. He’ll have to get Kings star DeMarcus Cousins to buy in, which hasn’t always been easy. He’ll have to find a way to work his up-tempo offense with the back-to-the-basket center.
It doesn’t seem like it will be a quick turnaround, as Karl will look to turn the Kings into something completely different. They currently rank dead last in assists per game, and give up the third-most points per game. But with young pieces such as Ben McLemore and Nik Stauskas around Rudy Gay and Cousins, the Kings could overachieve next season like many of Karl’s teams did.
First order of business for Karl? Make sure his team gets a pick in the top 10, otherwise the Kings will be without a first round pick as they owe it to the Chicago Bulls.
