Seton Hall has high expectations this season, but it’s not like the program hasn’t had recent success.

The Pirates have advanced to the last two NCAA Tournaments under Kevin Willard and in 2016, had a major breakthrough when Isaiah Whitehead led this program to the Big East Tournament title.

Willard believes this team may have more options than that one.

“I think this team is deeper than the 2016 team,” Willard said Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “I think we’ve got more options and more depth. We need to get better defensively. That’s ultimately going to be the biggest key.”

Seton Hall is 2-0 and will next host Indiana on Wednesday as part of the Gavitt Games.
