Baltimore Orioles right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman will be honoring former Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Roy Halladay by switching to No. 34 for the upcoming 2018 campaign. Making the news official, Gausman, who previously sported both No. 37 and No. 39 for the Orioles, made a formal announcement regarding the matter on social media on Thursday afternoon.

Halladay, who notably retired from the major leagues back in 2013 after splitting his 16-year playing career between the Blue Jays and Phillies, died in a plane crash in November.
