Kentucky Wildcats Unanimous No. 1 Again

Undefeated Kentucky keeps rolling

College Basketball Today

Coach Cal’s crew is cruising.

For the second consecutive week, the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats (23-0) are the unanimous No.1 team in the Associated Press’ Top 25 college basketball rankings.

The Wildcats are the lone undefeated Division-1 team following a Virginia loss last week.  The Cavaliers fell to No. 3, but jumped the Gonzaga Bulldogs this week after victories against ranked opponents North Carolina and Louisville. Tony Bennett’s team could struggle in the next few weeks as the team’s leading scorer, Justin Anderson, suffered a fractured finger in his shooting hand and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after undergoing surgery on Monday.

The Kentucky Wildcats have eight regular season games remaining before the SEC Tournament begins including two contests this week, at LSU on Tuesday and home to South Carolina on Saturday afternoon. While LSU presents challenges to the undefeated Wildcats, games against No. 24 Arkansas (February 28) and a trip to Georgia (March 3).
